GENERAL STUDIO AND LOCATION SESSION INFORMATION

  • We offer a variety of portrait experiences in our Ventura Studio and on location, but our main focus is on Families, Maternity, Newborn and Headshots/Personal Branding. We also offer portrait sessions for Seniors, Boudoir, Pets, Cake Smash Mini Sessions, Corporate Headshots and Event photography.

  • Yes. We can jump on a quick phone call or schedule a time for you to come in and tour the studio to be sure we’re a good fit. This is a great opportunity to get all of your questions answered and begin planning your ideal session.

  • Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a call. I'll reach out within 24 hours to chat about your vision, answer any questions, and get you on the calendar. A session deposit is required to hold your date.

  • My studio is located at 1891 Goodyear Avenue, Suite 607, in Ventura, CA 93003. Sessions are by appointment only. I serve families throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles counties.

  • I have a variety of backdrop options in the studio — classic neutrals, rich textures, and timeless tones that photograph beautifully and keep the focus on you and your family.

During your pre-session consultation, we'll talk about the overall look and feel you're going for and choose backdrops that complement their outfits and personality.

  • Of course. We are surrounded by gorgeous beaches, parks and amazing areas around Ventura, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles Counties. Your portrait session can take place at a location meaningful to you and your family; even at your own home.

  • I travel to locations within 25 miles of my Ventura studio (93003) and have a curated list of beautiful spots throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles counties — beaches, open fields, gardens, parks, historic neighborhoods, and more. If you have a location that's meaningful to you, I'd love to hear about it. If you're not sure where to go, I'll make recommendations based on your session type and the mood you're going for.

If the location you would like to shoot at is further than 25 miles from 93003, we would be happy to accommodate your request; however, a travel fee will apply.

  • For most sessions, I recommend booking 2-4 weeks in advance to ensure you get your preferred date and time. Newborn sessions should be booked during your second trimester — ideally between 20 and 28 weeks — since we schedule based on your due date and confirm once baby arrives. The Baby's First Year Program should also be booked during pregnancy.

  • Most of our sessions take about 1 to 1-1/2 hours. This gives us comfortable time for outfit changes, breaks for water and snacks, a little room for kid-paced moments, and a variety of setups and lighting looks. I never rush a session — I'd rather we finish relaxed with beautiful images than race through it.

Newborn Sessions take about 2-3 hours, while our Sweet Blessings Wrapped Newborn Session is 1 hour.

Our Mini Sessions are 30 minutes and our Super Mini Headshot Sessions are 15 minutes.

  • Life happens — I completely understand. Please give me as much notice as possible and I'll do my best to find a new date that works for you. Rescheduling policies are outlined in your session agreement. I never want you to feel rushed or stressed about logistics, so just reach out and we'll figure it out together.

  • The number of images varies by session type and the package or collection you choose. Rather than a set number, my goal is to deliver a curated gallery of the very best images from your session — fully retouched and beautiful. You'll see everything at your Reveal & Ordering Appointment and choose the pieces you love most. There's no pressure to purchase anything you don't want.

  • After your Reveal & Ordering Appointment, digital images are delivered via a private online gallery within 48–72 hours of payment. Printed products and custom artwork are ready for studio pickup within 2–3 weeks. Every piece is carefully crafted and worth the wait.

  • You can absolutely purchase digital files. I offer several ways to invest in your images — with 3 collections of product packages and 3 collections of digital collections. You’ll get to choose which collection you prefer when you book your session and of course, you can always upgrade your selections before or after your session.

  • Yes — and I'm happy to work with you on it. Many clients break their print and product purchase into 2, 3, or 4 payments, allowing them to invest in the pieces they truly love without feeling rushed. We can begin ordering as payments are made, or wait until everything is paid in full — whichever works best for you. No pressure, ever.

  • Absolutely, and with gratitude. Military and First Responders receive 10% off all prints and products. Thank you for your service.

  • Clothing sets the entire mood of your portraits, so it's worth thinking through. Start with a soft, coordinated color palette — creams, earth tones, dusty blues, or sage greens. Choose 2–3 complementary colors and mix textures: a flowy dress, a layered cardigan, simple linen. Coordinate rather than match — think pieces from the same collection, not a uniform.

Avoid bold logos, neon colors, and busy patterns. And please, leave the AC/DC shirt in the drawer for this one.

My client closet has a few pieces and children's dresses available to borrow. If you're ever unsure, text or email me a photo of your outfits — I'm always happy to help before the session.

  • The night before: lay out all outfits, get a good night's sleep, and pack a "just in case" bag — snacks, wipes, a change of clothes for little ones, and a comfort item if they have one. On the day of: eat a light meal before you come, leave a few minutes earlier than you think you need to, and keep the energy light and fun. Don't hype up the session as a big deal — just tell them we're going to play and take some fun pictures.

Most importantly: relax. Kids feed off your energy. The more at ease you feel, the more they will too.

Tip: You may want to plan your session around your child’s nap time to ensure they feel their best!

  • Take a breath and we’ll take a break — this is one of the most common things I hear before a session, and I promise, it's always okay. I've worked with children of every age and temperament, and I have plenty of patience, games, and tricks to keep things moving. Some of the most beloved images come from the unscripted, imperfect, wonderfully real moments.

My job isn't to capture perfect poses — it's to capture your family just as you are. A silly face, a much-needed hug break, a toddler mid-sprint — these often become the favorites. You stay calm, keep smiling, and trust me to handle the rest.

  • Yes! Pets are welcome in both studio and location sessions. For studio sessions, bring their favorite toy or treat — we'll typically work them in at the beginning or end of the session to keep things easy. The more comfortable your pet is with you present, the smoother it goes. Just give me a heads up so I can get the water bowl ready for them.

  • The sweet spot is between 28 and 32 weeks. At this stage your bump is beautifully round and prominent, but you're still comfortable enough to move, change outfits, and enjoy the session. If you're expecting multiples or have a unique situation, reach out early and we'll time it perfectly for you.

  • Start with colors that draw compliments on you — if people often say "that color looks amazing on you," bring it. Flowing gowns, body-hugging dresses, and anything that highlights your bump are stunning. Stick to solids or soft textures; neutral tones, pastels, and earth tones feel timeless and elegant.

Bring 2–3 options so we have variety. My client closet has gorgeous gowns worth exploring — I'm sure we'll find something you'll love. And coordinate with your partner and kids: complementary tones, not matchy-matchy.

  • Please include them! The people and animals who are part of your growing family make for the most meaningful images. I keep things relaxed and playful with children — some of the most beautiful maternity photos happen in the in-between moments, a quiet snuggle, a shared laugh. For pets, bring their favorite toy or treats and we'll weave them in naturally. Just be sure to give me a heads up on who is coming so I can prepare the studio for them.

And if someone gets a little wild? That's okay. The goal isn't perfection — it's capturing your real, beautiful life.

  • Absolutely! A boudoir-maternity session celebrates the beauty and power of your pregnant body in a more sensual, artistic way. We'll use soft lighting, flowing fabrics, and intimate poses that honor this season of your life. It can be its own standalone session or woven into your maternity session. Just mention it when you inquire and we'll plan it together.

HEADSHOT SESSIONS

  • Start with what makes you feel most like yourself — then consider a few things. Solid colors and subtle textures photograph beautifully: navy, charcoal, jewel tones, soft neutrals. Avoid bold patterns, neon colors, and logos that pull attention away from your face. A well-fitted blazer, crisp blouse, or tailored dress always reads polished and intentional.

Think about your industry too: corporate and professional fields call for clean and classic; creative fields can handle a little more personality. Keep jewelry simple. Bring 2–4 outfit options — I'll help select what photographs best based on your coloring and the backdrops we're working with.

  • Most headshot and personal branding sessions run 1 hour — plenty of time for 2–3 outfit changes and a variety of looks. A 2-hour option is available if you want a broader personal branding session with more variety.

Short on time? My Super Mini Headshot Session is just 15 minutes — one outfit, one backdrop, one polished professional image. Perfect for LinkedIn, a business card, or a company website. Session fee is $225, with additional images available for $50 each.

  • Yes — that's exactly what they're for and the reason our package come with web-size images. All digital images are licensed for personal and professional use, including LinkedIn, your website, social media, marketing materials, and press. If you need extended commercial licensing for advertising or large-scale campaigns, just let me know when we chat.

  • Absolutely. We can accommodate small teams in the Studio, or I offer on-location corporate headshot sessions for larger teams and businesses. I come to your office or preferred location and photograph your entire team in one efficient session. Everyone gets a consistent, polished look that works beautifully across your website, LinkedIn, and marketing materials. Reach out for a custom quote based on your team size and needs.

  • You are not alone — this is one of the most common things I hear. And here's the truth: the clients who say they're the most awkward in front of a camera are often the ones who walk away with their favorite images they've ever had. I'll guide you through every single pose, give you specific direction (so you're never just standing there wondering what to do), and create a relaxed, conversation-filled environment where you forget you're even being photographed. By the end, I promise you'll be surprised.

  • In a standard 1-hour session, most clients get 2–3 distinct looks with outfit changes, backdrop changes, and lighting variations. A 2-hour session allows for even more variety. We'll plan your looks together during your pre-session consultation so every minute of your time is used beautifully.

BOUDOIR SESSIONS

  • If you've ever thought about it — even for a second — it's probably right for you. Boudoir isn't about a certain body type, age, or relationship status. It's about celebrating you, exactly as you are right now. I've photographed clients of every shape, size, age, and confidence level. Every single one has left standing taller than when they walked in.

The experience is warm, judgment-free, and full of genuine laughter. You'll be guided through every pose in a completely private studio. And I can say with confidence: most clients tell me it was one of the best things they've ever done for themselves.

  • That nervousness is completely normal — and it almost always disappears within the first few minutes of the session. Part of my job is making you feel at ease before we ever pick up the camera: we'll chat, I'll walk you through everything, and we'll ease into it together at your pace.

I know how to pose and light every body type in a way that is genuinely flattering, and just beautifully, powerfully you. You don't need to look a certain way. You just need to show up. I'll take care of the rest.

  • Whatever makes you feel like the best version of yourself. Classic lingerie sets, bodysuits, an oversized button-down, your partner's team jersey, a slip dress, a cozy sweater — it all works. Bring 3–5 outfits so we have variety, and try everything on in advance. Avoid tight elastic waistbands (they leave marks). My client closet has bodysuits, teddies, and a gorgeous set of ostrich wings if you want to explore something unexpected.

And if you're unsure? Bring options and we'll figure it out together at the session. There are no wrong choices here.

  • I highly recommend it — and I have a wonderful makeup artist who can come to the studio to prepare you before your session. The difference it makes in how you feel (and therefore how you photograph) is remarkable. Professional hair and makeup is available for $175–$200. Many clients say getting glammed up is their favorite part of the whole experience.

That said, if you prefer to do your own hair and makeup, that's perfectly fine too. I'll give you some tips when we chat.

  • Yes — and it's one of the most personal, meaningful gifts you can give. Boudoir albums, framed prints, and custom gift boxes make for an unforgettable wedding gift, anniversary present, or birthday surprise. If you're working toward a specific date, book at least 4–6 weeks in advance to allow time for your session, image selection, retouching, and product delivery.

CAKE SMASH MINI SESSIONS

  • A cake smash session is a first birthday portrait experience where your baby gets to do what one-year-olds do best — dig into a beautifully styled cake with both hands and absolutely no rules.

We start with classic birthday portraits of your baby looking their adorable best, then introduce the cake and let the magic (and mess) happen naturally. The results are joyful, expressive, and full of personality. It's one of the most fun sessions I get to photograph.

You provide the cake and any balloons, I’ll provide the cake stand, backdrop and party hat.

  • Book 4–6 weeks before your baby's first birthday to secure your preferred date and allow time for planning the theme and styling. If your baby's birthday falls near a holiday or in a busy month, book even earlier. A pre-session consultation is included so we can plan everything together in advance, including colors and the theme.

  • Yes — you provide the cake, and I’ll provide the cake stand, the backdrop and the party hat, plus help you plan it. During our pre-session consultation we'll talk through your theme, colors, and vision so the cake fits the overall aesthetic of your session. A single-tier smash cake (roughly 4–6 inches) is ideal — big enough to be beautiful in photos, sized just right for little hands to dig into. Your local bakery can absolutely make something perfect, or a home-baked cake works beautifully too.

Tip: You’ll want to make sure the frosting is soft enough for little fingers to dig into; fondant or hard-shell frosting is frustrating for little ones and won’t likely achieve the desired results.

  • Absolutely — the theme is one of the most fun parts to plan. We can do classic and timeless, whimsical and storybook, seasonal, or something that reflects your baby's personality. During your consultation, we'll plan the backdrop, props, and styling to bring your vision to life. I provide the props and backdrop — you just bring the cake and your baby's outfit.

  • For the classic portrait portion, dress your baby in something adorable that fits the theme — a birthday outfit, a pretty dress, a little bow tie. Whatever makes your heart happy.

For the cake smash portion, you can keep the same outfit or switch to something simpler (a onesie, a diaper cover) since it will likely end up covered in frosting.

Tip: Bring a complete change of clothes for after the session.

  • Yes — I love including parents and siblings for some of the classic portrait images at the start of the session. These family moments alongside the solo birthday portraits make for a beautifully complete gallery. Just let me know when you book and we'll plan the session flow accordingly.

  • It happens more often than you'd think — and it's always okay. Some babies are cautious explorers, and that's part of their personality too. We will work with your baby's temperament and capture beautiful images whether they dive in with both fists or approach the cake with the careful deliberation of a tiny food critic. Either way, we get the shots.

Sometimes, a little frosting on a finger to get them started often does the trick or having you dig in with them can help.

  • Totally normal. Babies have their own schedule, and one-year-olds especially come with big feelings. We build breaks into the session and follow your baby's lead completely. If they need to eat, nurse, or take a few minutes to reset — that's exactly what we'll do. These sessions are typically 30 minutes; however, the goal is to capture your baby’s best images so if we go over that timeframe , that’s okay too.

  • It can get pretty messy , depending on the baby — and gloriously so. Frosting in the hair, cake on the nose, fingers absolutely coated. The studio is fully set up for easy cleanup, and you should bring a change of clothes and a bag for the frosting-covered outfit. I'll have wipes on hand and will assist with cleanup.

Tip: Dress your baby in something you don't mind getting messy, and plan to change them into clean, comfortable clothing right after the smash portion.

  • Cake Smash Mini Sessions are designed to run approximately 30 to 45 minutes — enough time for a few classic birthday portraits, and the cake smash. Mini sessions are focused and efficient, with a beautifully styled set ready when you arrive.

  • Outdoor sessions call for soft, coordinated color palettes that work beautifully with natural settings. Think creams, earth tones, dusty blues, sage greens — colors that feel warm and timeless rather than bold and jarring. Choose 2–3 complementary tones and layer in textures: a flowy dress, a linen shirt, a denim jacket.

Avoid bold logos, busy patterns, and neon colors. Bring comfortable shoes for the terrain, and a backup pair for kids. And as always — text or email me a photo of your outfits beforehand if you'd like a second opinion. I'm happy to help.

  • Keep the morning low-key and fun — no big buildup. Pack snacks, water, wipes, and a change of clothes just in case. Make sure everyone eats before you come. Leave a few minutes earlier than you think you need to, so you arrive calm rather than rushed. Tell the kids we're going somewhere fun to play and take pictures — and then just let them be themselves.

Tip: You may want to plan your session around your child’s nap time to ensure they feel their best!

  • Take a breath and we’ll take a break — this is one of the most common things I hear before a session, and I promise, it's always okay.

Outdoor sessions have a natural, playful energy that actually works in our favor with kids — there's room to move, explore, and be themselves. If someone needs a snack break, a game, or five minutes to run around — we take it. The best images often happen when we stop trying and just let the moment unfold. Stay calm, and trust me to guide it.

  • Absolutely — pets are wonderful to include in outdoor sessions. Bring their favorite toy or treats, and make sure they're comfortable on a leash if needed for the location. We'll work them in naturally, usually at the beginning or end of the session when they tend to be most cooperative (and most adorable).

Tip: Make sure the location we choose allows pets, even if it is outdoors and your dog is on a leash as pets are prohibited in some public areas.

  • Please give me as much notice as possible and I'll do my best to find a new date that works.

For outdoor sessions, I monitor weather closely in the days leading up to your session. Southern California generally cooperates and we rarely get rain. But if conditions are very poor we'll reschedule at no extra cost — I want your images to be everything you imagined.

Please keep in mind that we do not reschedule due to overcast skies or fog. This is very typical coastal weather throughout the year in Southern California and overcast days can actually produce beautifully soft, flattering light. We may miss out on the colors of the coastal sunset, but the images will still be beautiful!

  • Honestly, Southern California is beautiful nearly year-round — that's one of the gifts of living here. Fall is the most popular season for family portraits, with warm golden light and portraits ready just in time for holiday cards. Spring brings lush greenery and soft florals. Summer evenings have that magical last-light glow. Even winter days in Ventura can be breathtaking. The best time is when your family is ready.

  • The sweet spot is between 28 and 32 weeks. At this stage your bump is beautifully round and prominent, but you're still comfortable enough to move, change outfits, and enjoy the session. If you're expecting multiples or have a unique situation, reach out early and we'll time it perfectly for you.

  • Similar to our studio sessions, start with colors that draw compliments on you — if people often say "that color looks amazing on you," bring it. Flowing gowns and dresses that highlight your bump are absolutely stunning in natural outdoor light — especially on the beach, in a golden field, or against a soft coastal backdrop. Stick to solids or soft textures; avoid bold patterns that compete with a beautiful location. Bring 2–3 options. My client closet has gorgeous gowns worth exploring.

  • Of course — and outdoor settings have a natural ease that makes including the whole family feel effortless. Kids have room to move, pets are in their element, and the light does something magical with a group. Just let me know who's joining and I'll plan accordingly.

  • The Summer going into your Senior year and early Fall are the most popular seasons — beautiful light, comfortable temperatures, and portraits ready well before senior year events and college applications. That said, Southern California offers gorgeous conditions nearly year-round. Book as early as you can to secure your preferred date, especially if you have a specific location in mind.

You can also book as late as Spring your Senior year and still get your photos in time for graduation! Reach out and let’s talk through it.

  • Senior sessions are one of the few portrait experiences where personality-forward styling really shines. Encourage your senior to bring outfits they genuinely love and feel confident in — not just what they think looks "senior picture appropriate." Most seniors bring 3–4 looks: something casual and on-brand, something a bit more elevated, and maybe one outfit that incorporates a sport, instrument, hobby, or passion.

A few guidelines: avoid busy logos and text-heavy graphics; bring well-fitted pieces (nothing too baggy or too tight); and think about shoes and accessories too — they complete the look and show up in images.

  • Most 1-hour location sessions accommodate 2–3 outfit changes, depending on how close together the looks are and whether we're staying in one spot or moving. A 2-hour session allows for more variety and location transitions. We'll plan it together during your pre-session consultation.

  • Yes — please do. Props and meaningful items make senior portraits feel personal and tell a real story. A guitar, a volleyball, a letter jacket, a beloved dog — these details are what make images feel like them, not just any senior. Bring whatever matters to your senior and we'll incorporate it naturally.

  • Yes, and I love when families do this. We typically start or end with a few family shots — it's a meaningful way to mark this milestone together. If you'd like family photos included, just let me know when you inquire so we can plan the session timing accordingly.

  • Absolutely — in fact, I encourage it. A location your senior actually cares about produces more natural, authentic images than a generic backdrop. Whether it's the beach they grew up going to, an urban spot that fits their aesthetic, or a scenic overlook they've always loved, I'll make it work beautifully.

I also have a curated list of favorite spots throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara, and LA counties if they need inspiration.

  • This is one of my favorite challenges. I give specific, easy direction so they're never just standing there hoping for the best.

We'll ease into it — start somewhere they feel comfortable, talk about the things they care about, and let the session become a conversation rather than a photo shoot. Most camera-shy seniors are surprised by how much they enjoy themselves by the end.

  • Please give me as much notice as possible and I'll do my best to find a new date that works.

  • Choose outfits that feel authentically you — relaxed, dressed up, or somewhere in between. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident. A few tips: coordinate your colors rather than matching exactly; soft, neutral, or earth-toned palettes photograph beautifully outdoors; and avoid bold logos or busy patterns that compete with the scenery. Layers, flowy fabrics, and personal style details always add something special.

Bring 1–2 outfit options if you'd like some variety, and feel free to include something sentimental — a meaningful jacket, a piece of jewelry, something that's just the two of you.

  • I recommend booking at least 6–8 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date and location — especially if you're hoping for a specific season or golden-hour timing.

  • Not at all — engagement sessions are a standalone experience and are open to any couple.

  • Southern California gives us so many beautiful options — beaches, golden fields, gardens, cliffside overlooks, urban settings, and everything in between. I have a curated list of favorites throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles counties. If there's a place that's meaningful to your relationship, I'd love to hear about it. If you're not sure where to go, I'll make recommendations based on your style and the mood you're going for.

  • You are in the right place. Almost every couple says this before their session — and almost every couple is pleasantly surprised by how natural it feels within the first ten minutes. I’ll give you specific, easy direction so you're never just standing there wondering what to do. We'll walk, we'll laugh, I'll get you talking to each other — and before you know it, you'll forget the camera is even there.

That's exactly what engagement sessions are for. By the time your wedding day comes, you'll be total naturals.

  • Please give me as much notice as possible and I'll do my best to find a new date that works.

  • Golden hour — the hour before sunset — produces the most stunning, romantic light, especially on the coast. I schedule most outdoor sessions around this window. If a specific time of day doesn't work for you, overcast mornings can also produce beautifully soft, flattering light without harsh shadows.

  • Most engagement sessions run 1 to 1.5 hours — enough time for a relaxed, unhurried experience, a location transition if desired, and a variety of looks and moods. I never rush.

  • Absolutely — dogs make for some of the most joyful, personality-filled images. Bring their leash and favorite treats, and we'll work them in naturally. Outdoor sessions are perfect for including pets.

  • Dogs are my most common furry clients, but I love photographing any pet who can safely enjoy an initially unfamiliar environment in my studio - or we can move the session to your home. If you have a question about whether your specific pet is a good fit for an outdoor session, just reach out and we'll talk through it.

  • That depends entirely on your dog, the location, and local regulations. For most outdoor locations I use, leashes are required for safety and courtesy. The good news: a leash rarely shows in photos, and I know how to work around it. If your dog is reliably off-leash in open, secure areas, we can discuss locations where that works.

In my Studio, once inside, I lock the front door so you can take the leash off and allow your dog to explore and sniff their way through the studio to become familiar with the environment.

  • That's completely normal — and honestly, some of my favorite pet images come from the action shots, the in-between moments, and the big personality. I work with your pet's natural energy, not against it. A wiggly, excited dog is just as beautiful as a calm, posed one — sometimes more so.

Bring their favorite treats or a squeaky toy. I have a few in the studio as well. The right motivation makes all the difference.

  • Bring your pet's favorite high-value treats, their leash, a water bowl, and anything that helps them feel calm and happy — a beloved toy, their favorite ball, a blanket they love. If they have a collar or bandana they wear for special occasions, bring that too. Dress them up if it makes you happy — I'm always here for a bow tie.

  • Of course — and honestly, the images of you together with your pet are often the most meaningful ones. We can do a mix of solo pet portraits and photos of you (and your whole family) with your pet. Just let me know when we plan the session.

  • Sessions can take place in my Ventura studio. I also travel for sessions and love finding locations that suit your pet's personality — open fields where dogs can run, beaches where they can splash, shaded parks, or even your own backyard if it's a place your pet loves. I'll make recommendations based on your pet and the look you're going for.

If your location takes us more than 25 miles from my studio, a travel fee will apply.

  • Please give me as much notice as possible and we'll reschedule at no extra charge. I want your images to be everything you hoped for, and we're lucky enough to live somewhere that cooperates most of the time.

Keep in mind that we do not reschedule due to overcast skies or fog. This is very typical coastal weather throughout the year in Southern California and overcast days can actually produce beautifully soft, flattering light. We may miss out on the colors of the coastal sunset, but the images will still be beautiful!

  • Most pet sessions run 45 minutes to 1 hour. We follow your pet's energy and attention span — some sessions move quickly and beautifully, others need a few more breaks and moments of patience. Either way, we'll get what we came for.

PET SESSIONS

  • Book during your second trimester — ideally between 20 and 28 weeks. We schedule your session around your due date and confirm the exact timing once baby arrives. The ideal window for the session itself is within the first 5 to 14 days after birth, when babies sleep more deeply and curl naturally into those sweet, snuggly poses. That said, beautiful portraits can be captured up to three months — if life had other plans, just reach out.

  • The single most helpful thing you can do is keep baby awake for 1–2 hours before the session — a warm bath or some playtime works well. A tired baby settles into poses much more easily. Feed baby right before you arrive, and plan to feed again throughout the session as needed. Everything else, I'll handle. There's nothing you need to prepare, purchase, or stress about in advance.

  • A well-stocked diaper bag: diapers, wipes, any cream you use, and extra milk or formula. A pacifier (even if baby doesn't usually use one — it can be a lifesaver between poses). A comfortable, easy-to-remove outfit for baby — a zip-up sleeper or loose onesie, nothing that pulls over the head. Snacks and a drink for yourself if you have special dietary needs. I typically provide a veggie and fruit tray for you to snack on during your session.

That's truly it — I provide everything else, including props, wraps, hats, and all the studio supplies.

The studio is kept warm for baby — bring a short-sleeve top for yourself. It gets cozy in there!

  • Plan for 2–3 hours. Newborn sessions are the only ones we never rush — we follow your baby's lead completely. There will be feeding breaks, diaper changes, settling time between poses, and moments where we simply wait for baby to drift back to sleep. All of that is built into the session.

The result of that patience is images that are peaceful, beautiful, and entirely worth every minute.

  • Your baby's safety is my absolute top priority — above any pose, any prop, any image. I have over 30 years of professional experience and specialized training in newborn safety. Every pose, every prop, and every setup I use is chosen with your baby's safety and comfort in mind.

I work slowly and gently, always following your baby's cues. If baby shows any sign of discomfort, we stop — no exceptions. Certain poses you may have seen in photographs are composite images (two photos layered in editing) — I never put a baby in an unsafe position for the sake of a shot. No image is worth more than your baby's well-being.

  • This is so common, and it's always okay. Babies have their own schedule and their own needs — and I've learned to work around all of them. If baby needs to eat, we feed. If baby needs to be held, we hold. If baby needs 20 minutes of white noise and a gentle bounce, that's exactly what happens. This is why we allow 2–3 hours — there's room for everything.

I will never rush or force a pose on a baby who isn't settled. If a session runs long or we need to pause, that is completely normal and expected. Please don't stress or feel rushed. It is important that you are calm so baby remains calm. We will get the images or move on to a pose baby settles into better.

  • Absolutely — and those sibling moments often become the most cherished images in the entire gallery. We start the session with siblings so they feel included and celebrated right from the beginning. After their photos, one parent can take them for a walk or let them play in another part of the studio while we shift to quiet time with baby. I keep Legos and snacks in the studio for little visitors.

Pets are welcome too. Bring their favorite toy or treats, and we'll work them in gently — usually at the beginning or end of the session. Just give me a heads up who will be accompany you to your session so we can plan accordingly.

  • This is completely normal, and nothing to worry about. The spotlight isn't on them today, and kids feel that shift. Starting with sibling photos first helps a great deal. After that, giving them something engaging — snacks, a screen, a walk with one parent — usually does the trick. There's no version of this session that goes wrong. Patience is built into every minute.

  • Yes — I offer at-home newborn sessions for families who prefer the comfort and familiarity of their own space. At-home sessions have a warm, lifestyle feel and can be absolutely beautiful. Keep in mind that lighting conditions vary by home, and I'll bring portable lighting to ensure gorgeous results. View my at-home newborn session packages on the Investment page.

  • Keep it simple and soft. Neutral tones — creams, beiges, whites, and soft grays — keep the focus on your baby and create a timeless, cohesive feel. Flowy dresses and cozy knit sweaters are lovely for moms. For partners, a solid neutral shirt and comfortable pants or dark jeans. For siblings, match the soft palette. Avoid bold patterns, logos, and bright colors.

My client closet has a few statement pieces to borrow if you'd like. And remember the studio is warm — dress in layers so you can adjust.

  • I do — and it's one of the most meaningful programs I offer. Starting with your newborn session, the Baby's First Year Program documents every milestone through your baby's first birthday: 3 months, 6 months (including a family session), and a 1-Year Cake Smash celebration. You'll end the year with a beautifully consistent collection of portraits that tells the complete story of your baby's first year.

See the Baby’s First Year Program FAQ for full program details, or reach out and I'll walk you through everything.

  • Yes. My Sweet Blessings Wrapped Newborn session is for baby only - a simpler, more streamlined newborn portrait experience focused entirely on the most timeless newborn images — your baby beautifully wrapped and swaddled in beautiful textures.

It's an accessible, meaningful option for families who want professional newborn portraits in a relaxed, unhurried session.

  • The Baby's First Year Program is a series of portrait sessions designed to capture every milestone of your baby's first year — from newborn snuggles to first birthday cake smash. Instead of one standalone session, you get a beautifully consistent collection of portraits that tells the full story of your baby's growth, personality, and the love surrounding them.

It's one of the most meaningful series of sessions I offer, and clients who do it consistently tell me it's among their most treasured keepsakes.

  • The program includes four milestone sessions:

    • Newborn Session (first 2 weeks) — every tiny detail, preserved

    • 3-Month Session — first smiles and a personality beginning to bloom

    • 6-Month Session (Sitter Session) — sitting up, exploring, and chubby-cheeked joy; includes extended family up to 6 members

    • 1-Year Session with Cake Smash — a full celebration of your baby's first trip around the sun

    • Optional Maternity Session (28–34 weeks) — celebrating the anticipation

  • During your second trimester — ideally between 20 and 28 weeks. This ensures you're secured for the maternity and newborn sessions (which need to be timed carefully), and gives us plenty of time to plan your experience. The program fee is paid in full before your first session.

  • Both programs include all program sessions, priority booking, 10% off prints and products throughout the program, and a complimentary 12×36" framed wall art piece at the conclusion of the program.

    • Classic — $1,250 (valued at $1,850): Includes all sessions and print credits toward images and products after each session.

    • Premium — $3,150 (valued at $5,225): Everything in Classic, plus an 8” custom-designed and 20 corresponding digital images after every single session.

Both are extraordinary investments in memories that will only grow more precious with time.

  • The Classic Program is $1,250 (a value of $1,850) and the Premium Program is $3,150 (a value of $5,225). The program fee is paid in full before your first session — after that, you only invest in the images you love after each session.

Payment plans are available for print and product purchases.

  • No need to worry — we build flexibility into the program from the start. Newborn sessions are scheduled around your actual due date and confirmed once baby arrives. If baby comes early or runs a bit late, we simply adjust. The whole program is designed around your baby's real milestones, not a rigid calendar. Just let me know and we'll make it work beautifully.

  • That’s okay. If you are still pregnant and would like to have your maternity portraits done, we will get you booked right away. We’ve done maternity portraits the day before the baby came! If you missed that window and your baby is born, that is okay too! The Maternity session is optional. The program fee is based on the four sessions from Newborn through the first year.
